Arrivals and Departures: By plane:Milos has an airport with normally only one daily flight from Athens. The Airport is at 4 km. from Adamas (see Flights). By boat: during the summer, there are on the average three ships a day  from and to Piraeus, Crete and the other Cyclades (see Ferries). There is a "the High Speed" line (4 hours from Piraeus). We suggest to make your enquires to a Tourist Office in Greece

Events: name days are celebrated more than birthdays. Go to the various feasts ("panaghiri") which take place the evening preceding  the name day, at the Saint's Church. Normally, in July Milos organizes a "festival" with various cultural events, including music. As to music, a local group of musician is giving birth to a series of interesting events, throughout the year. Watch for the various ads posted in the shops and....on the electrical columns.

Rentals: We stress the importance of booking your accommodation, vehicle, or ticket in advance for the month of August. Sleeping on the beaches is forbidden, and in some years tourists were forced to move to other islands for lack of rooms.  

Others: the Tourist Information Office is in front of the port: don't expect too much! There are sufficient public telephones in Adamas and Plaka. Roads are good, but beware with motorcycles! The bus system has been improved to reach more beaches. Please read our pages on restaurants, flights, ferries, etc.
